1. I will summarize the rest of chapter 12. We will read a couple of pages in 13 and then listen to 14. Finish 14 at home.
2. Friday we will have cornbread and sweet tea. I need volunteers to bring stuff for extra credit.
3. You will add new quotes from three different chapters to your progressive map.
4. I will give you a few minutes to work on your vocabulary.

1. You must find an example of a simile and an allusion. An allusion is a reference to an important book or event.

The Help Chapter 10

Reading: We will read The Help

Agenda:

1. We will listen to the audio through page 152.
2. You will read pages 152-159 "Lord, I better get on with my work..." silently. Finish chapter 10 at home. One question quiz tomorrow.
3. Today we will create a timeline of chapters 5-8.
1. I will give each person two pages from the book and a blank piece of paper.
2. You will write a quote from your pages and draw a picture.
3. Each person will present their picture to the class.
4. This will help us review these chapters.

2. Then write a paragraph that compares the two women.
1. On the surface, Minny and Celia have many differences...However, the two women have a few traits in common.
