Big Idea: What does food tell us about ourselves and how we treat our planet?

Reading: Today we will read for 10 minutes.

  1. You will have 15 minutes to finish your first body paragraph.

  3. Decide who has the best writing for today.
  4. Go to Socrative.com Click on Student Login at the top right. The room name is BHSENG11.
  5. Copy and paste the best body paragraph into the box. We will vote and who has the best writing overall.
  6. Tomorrow I will give you feedback on how everyone is doing.

Moving forward

Big Idea: What does food tell us about ourselves and how we treat our planet?

Reading: Today we will read for 10 minutes.

Agenda:
  1. Fill out the reading progress form.
  2. Essay Topic: 
    1. In response to the many articles you read in this module, write an essay in which you state your own personal preferences regarding food and nutrition. In this paper, describe the main criteria by which you will make decisions about food. Discuss what kinds of food you will buy for yourself and your family members, where you will buy it, and how you will prepare it. In addition to references to one or more of the four articles, support your food plan with logical arguments and evidence.
  3. Start a new English Journal. You will create a list to help you come up with ideas for your essay. We will also create an introduction to the essay.

  4. We will end by practicing using these sentence frames for your body paragraphs.

Beginning Our Essay

Big Idea: What does food tell us about ourselves and how we treat our planet?
