Goal: to explain how character's reputations are being challenged and who could calm things down at this point in the play.
Reading: Today you will focus on how characters change.
Agenda:
- Vocabulary for the Crucible Act IV
- Watch the movie to remember what happened in Act III
- Start a new English journal

- Throughout this Act, many characters had their reputation challenged. For example, [use the three columns from document TC001 in Google Classroom to write the next part of the paragraph] It would look something like this:
- For example, Abigail challenged Elizabeth Proctor's reputation when she said, “********” (Act III, line ###). This character was primarily motivated by... OR [Character NAME] his/her reputation because he/she really wants...
- At this point in the play, the hysteria in Salem is pretty high. But there are still a couple of characters who could ameliorate the situation. First, NAME could...If he/she only...then...Second, NAME has the opportunity to defuse the situation by...If he/she chose to...then...Unfortunately, no one is making these choices and so...
